Biodiesel Filters

One of the most affordable ways to produce biodiesel fuel is from waste vegetable oil (WVO). You can make arrangements with local restaurants to obtain their used frying oil at very little cost or no cost at all. Because that oil has been used to fry food, however, it will need to be carefully filtered before being processed into biodiesel.

At EvolutionBiodieselKits.com, we have all the filters you need to make quality biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel made from WVO, unlike with straight vegetable oil (SVO), requires filtration at both the beginning of the process and the end in order to get a product that is particle and water free. Consequently, there are two different kinds of filters you need for your biodiesel kit.

Types of Biodiesel Filters

Filters are rated according to the size of the particles that can pass through the filtration material. This number is given in microns. Before processing WVO, you need to extract a good amount of the particles in the oil using a barrel filter of at least a 300-micron rating. After the oil is processed into biodiesel and the glycerol has been drained, the biodiesel is then filtered again through a water-separating filter with a rating of 10 microns.

At EvolutionBiodieselKits.com, we supply the filters you need to process WVO with most of our biodiesel kits. Additionally, we offer replacement filters, filter cartridges and lower micron barrel filters. The more you filter the WVO, the better quality and performance you will get from our biodiesel fuel.
